Huawei view 20 review

Huawei View 20 launched in India on 22 January 2019. This is one of the first phones in India to feature the hole-punch display and this phone gives us the design trends that we can expect in smartphone 2019. The highlight is a hole in the display that features a front camera, the notch is gone and instead, we have a hole in the display which looks better than huge notches and is more practical than the slider phones. Everything looks better and more immersive be it usual apps, games and even videos.  It's less intrusive. Overall I certainly like this design. If you are wondering apps play well with the hole punch design, well most of them do. Honer has optimized the status bar to make sure nothing overlaps the hole, Kudos to Honer for that. as of now, the hole punch design hasn't created any issues and even if some apps have the problems with hole I'm sure developers will optimize their apps as they did for the notch because we are going to see a lot of phones this year with hole punch display design like Samsung galaxy S10 will come on February 19th with infinity O design which is a fancy name by Samsung

Look and feel :

• The hole punch design of The Honer View 20 results in almost bezels less display. the Bezels are narrow all around and yes there is a small chin at the bottom but its pretty small and that hole makes up for that.

• The display on View 20 seems great it's huge 6.4" IPS LCD Full HD+ display which does not seems huge thanks to the bezel-less design

• This is the phone that does not seem very big The display is nice and vibrant I mean it's not AMOLED but its beautiful display.

• The back of the phone is also stunning The Honer View 20 has a glass and metal design that looks premium. This has a really cool V pattern effect that reflects lights differently at different angles it looks pretty cool. Apart from that, there is a fingerprint scanner, the USB C port on the bottom and the IR blaster and the headphone jack on the top. The headphone jack is always good to see on a high-end phone it's also a rarity.

Camera:

• So the Honer view 20 is a premium looking smartphone with the latest hole punch design. Another highlight of the phone is 48 Mega-pixel camera. There is 48 MP f/1.8 primary Sony IMX 586 sensor along with the 3D time of flight sensor for the portrait mode. The camera support 4K at 30 FPS 

• There is  EIS which works while shooting in 1080P. The front camera is 25 MP F/2. and has a portrait mode. There are a lot of camera modes like the night mode, video camera effects, color pop background etc and more. Talking about the 3D time of flight sensor, along with the fact that it helps the view 20 take better portrait shots it can also be used for real-time scanning, animation of a 3D object and AR gaming. 

Performance and  features : 

• The honor view 20 packs in everything you'd expect from a premium high-end smartphone. First of all, it has flagship 7 NM kirin 980 chipset with up to 8GB of ram and 256 GB of storage the phone has GPU  turbo 2.0 and AI smart cooling which uses a combo of AI and the heat tube for improved thermal performance.

• There is also new UI on this phone a MAGIC UI which looks similar to EMUI but Honer has promised that there will be significant changes in future updates. The magic UI has all the features you can think of like Digital Balance and easy projection which is similar to Samsung DEX in note 9 but here you don't need cable or anything as it works wirelessly.

Battery: 

• Honer View 20 has huge 4000mAh battery which should be good enough and it comes with Huawei's 40Watt supercharge charger. Apart from that View 20 features dual frequency GPS and triple antenna wifi system which should improve connectivity.

Overall view 20 has to be one of the impressive smartphone coming from the Honer. The design is premium, It has the latest trend in the form of the attractive hole punch display, It has a massive 48 MP camera that seems pretty capable.
